is lifelock that good

The question that’s on the minds of many consumers shopping for identity theft protection is, is LifeLock that good and is it worth the money they charge. I’ll give you the facts and I’ll let you decide.

Identity theft protection encompasses more than just protecting your credit report. Identity theft protection really applies to anything that you can do to prevent an individual from gaining private information on you to the extent they can pose as you and apply for any kind of financial loan or credit. To protect your identity you not only have to secure your credit report but also prevent people gaining knowledge of your private information and gaining control of your documentation.

So what does LifeLock do to help protect you? LifeLock will place fraud alerts on your credit report every 90 days to ensure that you will always be informed of any credit being applied for in your name. Do other companies do this? Yes, other companies do this for you as well but this is typically where their protection ends.

LifeLock doesn’t stop there. LifeLock has a service called Walletlock® which comes with your membership that will help you contact the companies to replace the documents and credit cards in your wallet. When someone steals your wallet you need to cancel those cards as fast as possible to prevent them from using you cards and information. Do you have all the 1-800 numbers programmed into your phone to cancel your credit cards? If you didn’t how long do you think it would take you to get all the numbers for all your credit cards? What if the thief stole your phone too? One call to LifeLock and they will help you contact all the card companies. LifeLock will also help you replace your driver’s license, social security card, checkbook and even traveler’s check. Do other identity theft protection services do this for their customers? No only LifeLock offers this kind of protection.

LifeLock also has a service called eRecon® that also comes with your LifeLock membership. eRecon® is a service where LifeLock scours through known criminal databases for your information. If they find anything they will inform you of so you can better protect yourself. This is another service that other companies don’t offer.

Because protecting your identity involves many aspects of your life, just protecting your credit report isn’t enough. Other companies offer incomplete identity theft protection services. LifeLock is the real deal and is the best identity theft protection money can buy. If you would like a discount on a LifeLock membership use our LifeLock promotion code, Defense. You will receive the first 30 days free* and $11 off a year membership.

*At the end of the end of the 30-day free period your card will be billed automatically ($9 monthly / $99 annually) unless you cancel within the 30-day period. You can cancel anytime without penalty by calling 1-800-543-5625. Offer is for new members only.

  3. I think that the Walletlock service would come in handy when it comes to replacing credit cards and documentation. I lost my wallet one time and it took me forever to figure out how to cancel them and have them reissued.
