Life Lock Radio Spots
June 11, 2008 – 10:10 amLife Lock doesn’t do anything halfway. From their beginning in 2005, their approach to identity theft protection has been full out and wholehearted. They couldn’t afford to be anything less than aggressive if they were going to get the work out about their new proactive approach to preventing identity theft.
So when it came to advertising, they knew they had to go big or stay home. Most fledgling companies would have stuck to the tried and true strategies, or hoped word of mouth would be enough to propel them forward.
Not Life Lock. They wanted their unique services to be represented by the biggest and best personalities, people in whom potential customers had a lot of trust — or at least personalities who garnered a lot of interest for espousing the truth about political happenings and popular culture.
Paul Harvey was chosen to present the first Life Lock radio spots. Harvey began his journalism career in 1933 while he was still a high-school student. After 75 years in the business, he’s not only a beloved and trusted radio legend; he’s the largest one-man network in the world. Paul Harvey News comprises 1,200 radio stations, 400 Armed Forces Network stations and 300 newspapers.
Love him or hate him, Rush Limbaugh has the highest-rated radio show in the United States. In 2007, the controversial political commentator began recording Life Lock radio spots that emphasized the importance of individuals taking control of their own personal information.
Life Lock radio spots have since been presented by “shock jock” Howard Stern, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Sean Hannity, and former Tennessee senator and presidential candidate, Fred Thompson.
