LifeLock and TransUnion Partnership
December 23, 2008 – 5:04 pmLifeLock has teamed up with TransUnion to make protecting identities easier and more efficient. LifeLock is thrilled to announce that TransUnion is going to automate the process of placing fraud alerts on accounts and alerting customers of potential frauds on their credit reports.
This is a huge step for TransUnion as well as LifeLock to workout an agreement such as this. LifeLock protects more than 1.3 Million people with their identity theft protection. To get TransUnion to agree to automate the process will make the placement and renewal of fraud alerts seamless. TransUnion will also automate the process of informing customers of unauthorized access to their credit reports.
This Partnership with TransUnion means a lot to LifeLock because LifeLock is currently being sued by Experian, a California based credit bureau. Experian is trying to prevent LifeLock from protecting identities while TransUnion is streamlining the process. Both Experian and TransUnion sell their own brand of credit monitoring so why is one company helping the cause and the other trying to hinder it? LifeLock is also talking with the Atlanta based credit bureau Equifax to forge a similar deal.
Maybe in the future Experian will come to its senses and team up with LifeLock rather than spending their time suing them.
