LifeLock’s $1,000,000 Guarantee
February 7, 2008 – 5:45 pmOf all the identity theft protection services on the market, only LifeLock has the confidence to back theirs with a $1,000,000 total service guarantee*.
What that means is that if your identity is somehow stolen while you’re a member, LifeLock will pay up to $1,000,000 to resolve issues related to the theft.
So where does the money go? Attorneys, accountants, investigators, case managers — LifeLock will pay for any professional assistance necessary to see that your credit and your good name are restored.
A recent survey by the Identity Theft Resource Center shows that, on average, victims of ID theft spent 330 hours over a period of 4 to 6 months trying to clean up the mess. In some cases, victims worked for as many as 5,840 hours over a period of years trying to clear their names. And even after all that time, money and effort, 70% of the ITRC survey respondents said there was still some erroneous negative information on their credit report.
In most cases of identity theft the damage is limited to the financial realm. But what if your ID is stolen and used by someone else when he or she is arrested for a separate crime? Or, what if someone commits medical ID theft, using your identity to receive medical care? What if his or her medical information — blood type or drug allergies — gets commingled with your medical information?
LifeLock knows that identity theft can affect all areas of your life, and they’re prepared to pay up to $1,000,000 to clear it up.
If your identity ever ends up in the hands of criminals, you stand to lose a lot more than your good credit. LifeLock understands. LifeLock will take care it. And, only LifeLock will back that up with a $1,000,000 total service guarantee.
*Guarantee applies only if you become an id theft victim because of a failure in our service. Other restrictions apply. See LifeLock.com for details.

It’s nice to know that LifeLock is will to put their money where their mouth is. I mean if your going to say that you can protect someone then you better be able to back that up with something. The fact the LifeLock is willing to spend $1 million to fix whatever identity theft problem you have means a lot to me.
