Marriage even in Identity theft
October 9, 2008 – 4:30 pm Christina Herrera and her husband Jason Keno were arrested 30 minutes from one another with charges of identity theft. The police found evidence of the identity theft on both of them making it very easy to tie them both to the same crimes.
Police said that the investigation begun on June 12 when a officer stopped a man for not using his turn signal properly, in his rental car. When the man handed the officer his license the name on the card was that of Brandon Dean. The police officer said that he didn’t look like his picture and the man told him that he had lost a lot of weight because of some medication he had been taking. The police officer didn’t buy it and took him into custody. After printing the man they identified the him as Jason Keno. The rental car was registered to a Sabrina Joy.
Later on that day the police received a tip that they could get to Herrera at her house, she had a warrant out for her arrest for forgery. After bringing her in they found a credit card that was in Sabrina Joy’s name. The Married couple could not of made it any easier for the police to connect the two. The rental car was rented by the husband and the wife had the credit cards from the same person.
The two allegedly rented the car in Sabrina’s name and then payed in cash for a hotel room that was in someone else’s name. They also were passing off stolen and forged checks.
