Sinowal Trojan Virus Still at Large

The RSA Fraud Action Research Lab reported that it had discovered a digital cache of more than 500,000 credit cards and online bank accounts. The credit card and bank account information was recorded over the last two and a half years. The culprits are believed to be an online Russian group of thieves.
The collection of credit card numbers and bank account information was recorded using a Trojan horse virus. A Trojan horse virus is one that you install yourself. This is not a program that gets on your computer without you knowing. At some point you let it install itself. Now most people will not know that they installed a Trojan because the program is disguised as something else. After this particular Trojan was installed it would then start recording login information from bank accounts and credit card information from online purchases.
This particular Trojan virus is known as the Sinowal Trojan. This malware program is scary because of its ability to continue recording and sending private information from people’s computers. The Sinowal Trojan was also been around for a while and has been increasing its rate of attacks. In the last six month is has compromised more that 100,000 bank accounts alone.
